The course teaches the operation of DSC VHF radios as used on all yachts, including: correct voice procedures, Mayday procedures, GMDSS & DSC working, and the full theory of marine radio communications.

This course teaches the candidates how to deal with all medical emergencies on board, including bleeding, ressucitation, hypothermia, burns, suturing, and the use of category C drugs.

This is an RYA course which discusses safety equipment on board and the use thereof, survival techiques, liferafts and SAR operations.
