Overview

What did you get up to last summer? Explored the thousands of islands of the Swedish and Finnish Archipelagos? Spent nights moored up to rocks in stunningly beautiful natural harbours? Spent evenings round the barbecue and in wood burning saunas on deserted islands? No?

Then come join Kestrel, our very own CUYC club yacht, for a week or two (or three or more!) this summer and explore the beauty of the Baltic Islands and Archipelagos and the fabulous passages across the North and Baltic Seas.

Situated at the foot of the Gulf of Bothnia, the Stockholm and Finnish Archipelagos are some of the most beautiful sailing areas in the whole of Europe.
Spectacular scenery with tens of thousands of islands scattered around, ideal for peaceful, quiet anchorages or loud parties involving the sexy boat-own stereo system, is guaranteed.
Whether sailing past lonely islands in the evening of a long summer's day or watching the sun go down just before midnight in a beautiful anchorage, this summer sailing paradise offers something for everyone's taste! Barbecues, swimming, sun bathing and sauna-ing in the natural harbours, bays and on the rocky islands are considered canonical.

Come Sailing

The trips based starting and finishing in Stockholm or Ă…land will be based in the archipelagos. There trips will tend to be very relaxed explorations of the seemingly endless islands. Stopping at night in secluded natural harbours for barbecues, saunas and midnight sun swimming.

Trips either side of these are passage making trips with more of an emphasis on mile building. There is likely to be night sailing and watch systems, as well as many opportunities for people to gain experience either as acting skipper, first mate or watch leader.

Individual trips can be found on the Programme page. Have a look at the individual trip pages, and sign up to the ones you are interested in by clicking an the 'sign-up' button.
