Santorini in the Southern Cyclades - but we probably won't get this far
Springtime sailing clear blue Agean sea between the flower-clad hills of the Cycladic Islands ! Need one say more ? This is a full 7 days sailing Saturday-to-Sunday and we have negotiated a very serious discount. This will be the cheapest Med. sailing you get this year and the easy sailing is suitable for everyone.
We start with the yachts at Poros (ferry from Piraeus), then a long leg 44nm to Kythnos, then probably East towards Syros, Delos, South towards Paros and then across back up the West side of the Cyclades: Kimolos, Sifnos, Serifos.. but we will not visit all of those and it depends on the wind. That is more than 200nm too, which is the maximum sailing distance we are aiming for.
The last night (Sat.4th) is back in Poros. The night before we need to be nearby, so probably in Hydra. The leg back to Hydra will also be long.
If you have never sailed with the club before this is a great chance to do so: a friendly crew and relaxed sailing with plenty of sight-seeing.

Weather
Weather south and east of Athens in March/April is not cold, but neither is it high Summer. Plan for weather similar to the UK in an average May (including occasional rain) and you won't go far wrong.Travel
We fly to Athens on Saturday (some of us will be ther eon Friday) and then get a 1-hour hydrofoil (or 2-hour ferry) to Poros where we provision the boats and sleep overnight onboard. We have to get the boats back to Poros by the next Saturday evening, for a return flight from Athens on Sunday.
The cheapest flight costs £149 by Easyjet, leaving Gatwick early Saturday and returning to Luton late on Sunday. This includes one 20kg hold bag but no insurance. You will need to arrange your own travel insurance. Please do not book your flight until you have confirmation of a place from the Trip Organiser which will be an email with the word "CONFIRMATION" in the subject line.
