Outline: We're going racing again! The second of the racing trips this term is going to be on a Cork 1720. These 6 person keelboats are quick and fun to race. There is a one-design race in the Solent over the weekend. The plan is to spend Friday night in the Hamble (accomodation on a neighbouring yacht is included in the price), train on Saturday in the solent, and race on Sunday. March is a good time to start sailing again after the break and these boats should be a lot of fun.
Crew: This trip is ideally suited to members who have a bit of racing experience, in dinghies or yachts. There is room for a couple of people with less experience as well as we have an experienced backbone crew in place.
Boat: The 1720 is a fast keelboat with a large asymetric spinnaker. It was concieved by members of the Royal Cork Yacht Club and the first boat was launched in 1994. It is fast yet well behaved one-design class. Each boat has a crew of 6.
Transport and Timings: We'll drive down to Hamble on Friday night - hopefully leaving Cambridge before 7pm. We will leave Hamble in due course on Sunday and head back home - shouldn't get back to Cambridge too late. Hopefully, we will find enough drivers to make the train unnecessary. However, if that doesn't prove possible, some people may have to take the train.

I want to come! Great - email Tim to sign up! This trip should fill very fast due to the small number of places available and the great opportunity to sail a great boat.
